With 15 years of experience in the environmental and energy sectors, including over a decade in California’s regulated utility environment, Edith has led diverse initiatives spanning energy policy, regulatory affairs, and clean energy innovation. She began her
career as a water resources consultant supporting Clean Water Act compliance before advancing to San Diego Gas and Electric where she managed environmental compliance for large capital electric transmission projects. Edith further Edith took on leadership roles at Southern California Gas Company driving regulatory strategy before the California Public Utilities Commission, spearheading clean fuels and renewable energy programs, and leading strategic stakeholder engagement efforts to advance clean energy projects.
Over her career Edith has managed interdisciplinary teams across communications, legal, regulatory, and technical functions. She is skilled at translating complex policy and technical issues into clear, accessible messages for a wide range of audiences, including regulators, community members, industry leaders, and executive teams.
In her personal time, Edith serves as a Governing Board Member at LA’s BEST, a nonprofit providing afterschool enrichment to LAUSD students. Edith is also a graduate of the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) Leadership Institute, a statewide program that equips Latinas with vital leadership and advocacy skills, enabling them to create fundamental change within their local communities and across California for the benefit of Latinas and all Californians.
Edith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geological Sciences and Hispanic Literature and Culture from Brown University, a Master of Environmental Science and Management with a specialization in Water Resources from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Business Administration with an Accounting and Finance specialization from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
