The OPA / Ratepayer Advocate actively engages with ratepayers and LADWP affected stakeholders  to ensure their voices are heard and interests represented. We listen and learn about the diverse issues Angelinos from all strata and demographics face, enabling us to effectively communicate concerns and needs. The OPA is also dedicated to empowering ratepayers by clearly communicating when, where, and how they can engage in LADWP processes, fostering transparency and accountability in utility oversight.

The OPA / Ratepayer Advocate enhances utility transparency and accountability by rigorously analyzing LADWP's rates, long-term strategic plans, and policies. It functions independently, safeguarding the public trust and advocating for ratepayers.  OPA / Ratepayer Advocate also helps ratepayers understand the utility programs that impact them and their bills - providing information ratepayers can use in their own life.
