Utility Rates and Policy Specialist III
Maressa brings a unique background of asset management, innovative finance, non-profit and federal government strategy experience to the OPA. She was most recently on the Portfolio Strategy team at the US Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), focusing on commercialization of decarbonization technologies. While at DOE she contributed to the Department-wide Pathway to Commercial Liftoff initiative, designed demand-side programs to streamline partnerships between energy off takers and producers, and coordinated financial ecosystem engagement to build public-private partnerships.
Before joining DOE, Maressa worked in Innovative Finance at the Milken Institute, where she contributed to the research, development, and execution of projects to address market failures and funding gaps within social or environmental issues. Before joining the Milken Institute, Maressa worked in hedge fund asset management, gaining valuable experience in the capital markets.
Maressa holds as M.S. in sustainability management from Columbia University and a B.A. in international affairs from George Washington University.
